A recent offer has facilitated me
parting with my current mobile amplifiers, thus facilitating a
rework of the current audio system. Starting in a few weeks look for

My Rant, is an attempt at self
medication following several mishaps with the M. Written from the
cars point of view, I let off a little bit of steam directed towards
irresponsible drivers. MY RANT |

'Finally, after
several months of negotiations, etc. I have the car back and with
the new wheels, brakes and other mods done. Thanks to a shipping
screw-up I ended up better than I expected and the car looks
fantastic. Now if I could only make this thing an M55, instead of
the 45, the performance might be able to keep up with the looks. If
Infiniti had a performance line, like Mercedes (AMG) and BMW
(M-Series) this is what it would look like. I call mine the S-Line
(for Sport). see pictures

- May will prove to be a big month
for the M. I should finally be done with the rework of the Audio
system, my routine maintenance will bring replacement brake rotors
and pads, and thanks to a mix up with a damaged wheel replacement
I have upgraded to Infiniti OE wheels off an Infiniti FX; yes they
are 20's. After all is said and done, things should be in good
shape, and my projects done for a while.

With
the advent of new technologies and the fact that I am tired of
trying to keep it stuck on my windshield, I have traded up my old
tri-band Cobra radar detector to something new. The Whistler DE3500,
is a custom mount radar/Laser detector that uses a unique wireless
detector that mounts upfront behind your grill and has a cockpit
mounted display that you can mount out of sight. Thanks to an online
contest I won, the price was right to. (Install photos coming soon).

After
5000 miles it was time to do a tire rotation. While waiting to
have this done free at my local Discount Tires, I had a good
conversation about wheel -tire upgrades on the Infiniti and was
able to look through there exhaustive catalog of aftermarket
wheels. Even though financially a change such as this isn't in
the cards It was fun to look. I did find out that I could go a
bit wider in the rear with tires when the day to replace them
comes, 255/40/18's will fit in the rear fine and with a set of
H&R wheel spacers, it could give the "M: a nice custom look with
out major cash.

For most the factory
Bose stereo in the 2003/2004 M45 is adequate, but for anyone who
loves music and considers themselves a true audiophile the OEM
system needs work.
